POWER FLUSHING

PROBLEMS WITH YOUR CENTRAL HEATING

Is your central heating system slow to warm up?

Are some of your radiators partially or completely cold?

Do your radiators require frequent bleeding?

Is the water in your radiators discoloured and dirty?

Do your radiators have pinhole perforations and leakages?

Does your boiler make ketteling noises?

Does your central heating system have repeated pump failures?

Any of these symptoms could indicate that your central heating system has circulation and flow problems resulting from internal corrosion and the subsequent formation of rust, sludge and scale deposits.

A Power Flush can restore circulation and efficiency to your central heating system by removing these undesirable products. It purges them from the system, replacing aggressive water with clean water, chemically treated with corrosion inhibitors to help prevent similar future problems

What is Power Flushing?

Power Flushing is the process by which heating systems are forcibly cleansed using water at high velocity, but low pressure. The process is made even more effective with the addition of powerful cleansing and mobilising chemical agents. The objective is to restore systems with circulation and boiler noise problems (caused by sludge and corrosion deposits) to optimum operation. Power flushing removes these deposits and the problems that they cause. It is essential to power flush a heating system immediately before fitting a new boiler to an existing system in order to prevent possible future problems.

It is recommended you Flush your heating approximately every 5 years to maintain a healthy system, many of which generate corrosion and sludge, even if no flow problems have yet shown themselves.

PROCEDURE

The power flushing pump (shown below) is connected into the heating system, either across standard circulator pump couplings, across the tails of one radiator, or wherever most practicable. The powerful flow, combined with chemicals and the instantaneous flow reverse device, will dislodge and mobilise deposits and corrosion, which resist traditional system cleaning methods.

Once the corrosion and sludge deposits have been loosened and mobilised, fresh clean water is forced through the heating system, pushing the contaminated water out through a full bore dump valve to waste. During the process, radiators are individually flushed, without removing or disconnecting them from the system, by directing the full output of the pump through each radiator separately.

Our price for power flushing heating systems varies with the size of the property, boiler, chemicals required and number of radiators to be cleaned. Generally, prices start from about £240.00 plus vat but an on site survey can be completed before hand and a detailed quotation issued without obligation. Please get in touch for more details:-)
